Website Insanity by T. Hee aka Damian
Many painful years of relentless despair
Comfort snacks and loss of hair
Too many cooks and too many oars
We used the world's supply of drawing boards.
When redesigning first began
There were no tweets, nor blogs, nor spam
In fact, I seem to recollect
'Thatcher' was premier elect.
Maybe not that long ago,
But 'boy!' it really does seem so,
That we began the bloody fight
To create our company's new site.
My memories fade,
My pages don't load
But we were young when-
We started out down this 'code'.
Oh how we skipped into
The first designers' studio
To have an hour of glee and mirth
"Two months!" from first designs to birth
And how our happiness turned sour
By the 5th birthday of that hour
And how our songs and little skips
Turned to wails and nasty trips
Far from a site that smelt of roses
We were www.bloodynoses
Through many 'not quite' versions we
Have sought the perfect ftp
The words, the colour, the image, the story
The product, the service, the impact, the glory
Then to discover we won't be found!
"Your google algorythm’s unsound"
And too many words – "people don't read"
Too many pictures – "think download speed!"
"Have you thought of your product
and what is your vision?"
"Are you mad! It’s simple!
They CLIENT, We LISTEN."
And so on and so forth
Would I live to see that day?
When that face of a younger me
Was bitmapped away
But now it's August twenty zero nine
Can it finally be our time?
That we have something on-line to share
(Though it will never return my hair)
If you, RIGHT now, type THAT domain
Your life will never be the same
Do it now, not tonight
BY JOVE ! JEE WHIZZ – we’ve got a site!
Our graphic's Flash
Our twitters tweet
Our server’s up
As are my feet
For now when to our site you tread
You link directly to my head
Via ultra sonic angels' wings
And light emitting bats and things
As I lie sedated in my room
Of brilliant white, my cushioned tomb
So come inside and see my brain
And how a web site kept me nice and sane.
